Hot on the horizon for upcoming interior trends is the return of vintage bathrooms, with many homeowners now looking to inject their space with timeless character.
From small decorative accents such as fluted brassware to larger furniture and sanitaryware pieces that form the focal point of the bathroom, intricate design goes hand-in-hand with trends moving back towards maximalism.
We spoke to Leigh Price, Co-Director of Real Stone, Tile and Bathroom, who shared his top suggestions for introducing a classic appeal into your bathroom.
"Vintage bathrooms exude timeless elegance and remain popular among our customers for their stylish, luxurious effect", says Leigh. "If you want to create a vintage-style bathroom but feel like adding a modern edge, switch up your brassware. With the array of finishes now on the market - gone are the days when chrome was your only option - we often see our customers modernising their freestanding baths with the addition of gold or even black feet."

Another great way to embellish your space is through your choice of smaller brass accessories (e.g. taps, shower heads, etc.) Fluted accessories have been hugely popular in recent years, and are available in a variety of shades to suit the tastes of every homeowner.
And with brands now offering products to cover every feature of your space, from your fixtures to storage accessories (e.g. cotton pad and toothbrush holders) customers can easily create a coherent décor.

"A roll-top, free-standing bath is the perfect way to add a vintage feel to your bathroom - and to create a statement. Bringing the wow factor, a free-standing claw foot bath forms an impressive centrepiece and effortlessly evokes traditional appeal", says Leigh.

"To ensure a vintage look throughout, choose a toilet in a similar style. A high-level cistern WC would be a great choice; you often find these in period properties, and they now have modern mechanisms inside, but with chain pull flushes for a vintage aesthetic.
"Other ways to inject a modern feel include introducing a splash of colour - back in the day, bathrooms were limited to white traditional brick, whereas now you can put green or blue bricks in showering areas. This allows you to maintain the traditional feel while adding a subtle, contemporary touch."
